Greetings and welcome to the brand new martindale.com blog.
This new site is one example among many changes happening at Martindale-Hubbell as we embrace new ways to serve the needs of legal professionals. In particular, as peer-to-peer online communication continues to grow rapidly in the legal community, we’re eager to join the conversation.
The primary purpose of this blog is communication – a place for legal professionals to share ideas, express opinions, to get advice from each other, find links to helpful sites or blogs and stay current on the latest trends.
Importantly, however, it will also be a place for us to listen and learn – to your opinions, to your concerns and to your ideas so we can serve you better.
You will see regular postings from our leaders and experts on issues of the day, industry news and more. Occasionally, you will also see info about LexisNexis – such as our recent acquisition of Redwood Analytics.
In any case, we invite you to return often to participate in an ongoing conversation on subjects that matter to you, to and weigh in on what you see – or don’t see – and to let us know what you’re thinking.
For those of you who author your own blogs, we also welcome you to link to ours should you feel it’s a fit for your readers.
Again, welcome to the martindale.com blog. Thank you for visiting, and we look forward to hearing from you.

Elizabeth, Thank you for your feedback. The purpose of our network is to create a community for both buyers and sellers of legal services. We agree with you that the network will be better served by including all sophisticated buyers of legal services whether or not they are lawyers. We therefore welcome and encourage your feedback. You are not alone in your desire to find a forum to communicate with other law firm clients in your position. Last week we launched the beta of our professional network, Martindale-Hubbell Connected, which will facilitate this type of community interaction. Once we launch to the entire legal community your participation will be invaluable. Laxmi S. Wordham, Vice President, LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell

I understand the main purpose of the blog network created is to provide a peer to peer service. Perhaps the professionals involved within this network could also be better served with the opportunity to read feedback from clients, such as myself, who would like additional side by side comparisons and knowledge based decisions with regards to choosing legal counsel. We have had the same law firm for over 6 years to deal with a smattering of issues, from medical malpractice to divorce disputes. We have run the gammet on every possible scenario. Although we are happy with our present counsel (although not opposed to change) it would be beneficial to communicate with other clients of various groups to appreciate the valuable resources available with other firms, with regards to the menu of services offered. Although we are a mid size medical management corporation we do have continuous legal dealings and issues pertaining to trademark and copyright infringements, surgeon contracts and business law. It would be nice to communicate with other clients who feel there is a niche to open the doors of communications and make available comparative conversations encompassing our legal counsel at present and how we face needs that may warrant a change for the future.
