Hi, I’m Brian Salmanowitz, the Product Development Director for the Martindale-Hubbell web sites. I lead the group of developers that builds martindale.com, lawyers.com and attorneys.com. I have been in this role since January 2007 and previously directed the development efforts for Martindale’s self-service, ratings, content and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
I plan to blog on a variety of topics from my web development background (i.e. development process, web site development, website optimization, Web 2.0, professional networking) as well as how these technologies/methods can be used to improve or complement your law firm marketing practices. Wherever possible I’ll offer my experiences at LexisNexis as an example. It’s my hope that you may be able to learn from what has worked well for us (and possibly avoid that which hasn’t).
For Martindale-Hubbell law firm subscribers, I will offer recommendations for making the most out of your Martindale-Hubbell subscription. It amazes me how law firms of the same firm size and purchase level (with MH) can have vastly different results in terms of visibility traffic, documented leads and ultimately ROI. While some of this variation is linked to practice areas and geography, much of it is not and can be optimized by the firm for little to no additional cost. While the contents of my blog may not be “officially sanctioned, statistically significant” metrics, I’ll share the trends I’m seeing and offer recommendations for driving more value to your firm.
Let’s use this forum for sharing information related to legal web site development and online law firm marketing. I believe we can learn a lot from each other, but only if we actively participate and share our experiences.
